Cooking Alaturka is a tranquil oasis, tucked between touristic sights and carpet shops. Our restaurant seats 20-25 persons and is open for lunch or dinner every day except Sunday (occasionally we are open on Sundays too). For dinner, please make a reservation. Freshness being key, our menu is limited to a daily-changing 4-course menu, consisting of Turkish home-cooking and regional dishes, as well as some Ottoman classics. Special dietary requests can be accommodated upon request.
Our restaurant is about freshness and flavors. There is no a-la-carte choice. We do not have a large selection in order to have everything fresh. Some of the dishes are prepared under our supervision during our class. We serve 2 four-course fixed menu of Turkish home-cooking favorites and regional specialties, as well as some Ottoman classics. We rotate a variety of healthy and well-balanced menus, featuring local ingredients such as lamb, eggplant, vine leaves, yogurt, mint, chili, cumin, lentils, figs and walnuts.
Our little shop is focused on food-related items. These are mostly Turkish ingredients that are not commonly found abroad, some of which are used in our cooking classes, such as the wonderful red pepper flakes, dried mint, red bellpepper paste, a wide variety of home-made jams, giant whisks and cleavers, peppercorn pounders, ground Antep pistachios, pomegranate vinegar, nuts and dried fruits, Turkish delight and so on.
When What How
We serve lunch or dinner only after our class finishes. Ideal time is between 12.30 -15.30 for lunch and between 18.30- 21.30 for dinner. We are open Monday to Saturday only occasionally on Sunday.
Our four-course menus is priced at 19 US Dollars per person excluding drinks and service. It is customary in Turkey to leave a 10-15 % gratuity in restaurants. To avoid confusion we add 10% service charge onto each bill, all of which goes to our staff.

Our restaurant seats a maximum of 26 persons, including our cooking class participants. That means that if we have a full class, we can seat about 16 more at the same time. We are happy to offer all-inclusive rates for groups.
