A HAPPY DAY AT COOKING ALATURKA
We opened in
2002 as Istanbul’s first
Turkish cooking school
Thanks to lots of favorable press we have been cooking up a storm since then. Our location is ideal, amidst the city’s major sights. Whether you stay close to us or not, you’re bound to come our way.
We’ll teach you a balanced five-course menu in a group of 2 to 10 persons. And of course I’ll be happy to give you advice on what to see, do, and eat in Istanbul.

“Cooking Alaturka was the highlight of our trip. They were very helpful in explaining the origins of Turkish cooking, making you feel at home and introducing you to the best flavors the country has to offer. I take cooking classes in every country I visit (over 30) & this was hands down my favorite. It isn’t easy getting time with locals but we had a wonderful time to really live like one in their kitchen.“

“Visited for dinner, and was welcomed as a true guest! Warm and personal interaction, as is I was invited to their own home. Needless to say, the food (4 courses) was very delicious, and also accommodated my vegetarian preferences. Every dish was explained in detail. It’s worth every lira!“

“I just spent the morning learning to cook a couple of my favorite Turkish dishes, then enjoyed a long lunch, eating them. For the price of a tourist trap meal you get a terrific meal plus a warm welcome into Turkish culture. I highly recommend this, even for people who may not be that into cooking.“
